Rain drops keep falling on my head...

Rain. Lluvia. Day 5. Today we finally caught a glimpse of the sun (Inti) after being in a deluge for the past four days. Apparently weather like this hasn´t occurred in the past 10 years. This is the dry season. The weather is all anyone can talk about. There is concern for the crops. People (we) are cold. I have consumed more mugs of hot water and tea than ever in my life. Trekkers have had to return from the high altitudes along the Inka Trail because the passes are covered in snow. We were supposed to hike to some lagoons and hot springs, but had to cancel our adventure. The ¨bright¨ side?

1. We have played some epic games of UNO.
2. I found a couple of hours yesterday to run, do yoga by the river, and visit our students in their home stays.
3. The students are finding great meaning in ¨walking with¨ the people of Piscacucho. They love their new families and have realized that the tangible aspect of a service project may not be the most important one.
4. Sleeping to the sound of rain is incredible.
5. Today I will have a hot shower and we will all be eating smores later (the kids don´t know this yet...shhh)!

It looks like Argentina is a go...I´ve been in Peru for almost a month already!

Happy 4th!
