As we hiked to Incan ruins today we were serenaded by a local, traditional Peruvian band. They asked us to dance for a promotional video and without hesitation, we all jammed! Look for us...somewhere!
A shaman visited with us today and performed a traditional ceremony welcoming us to Peru. He encouraged us to find love and knowledge, to use our money to help others, to be respectful of Mother Earth and save her from further harm, and remember that humans are simply that, regardless of color or creed. I chose a package with something sweet in in as my offering. I was told that it was dessert for Mother Earth and that I need to eat more dessert and be sweeter so as to find partnership. Hmm...
We played a killer game of soccer with some of the homestay kids surrounded by peaks and ruins. Running at 9000 feet is different than Denver!
While dining with one of the families tonight, we were invited to return on Sunday to eat guinea pig...a delicacy here. Stay tuned...
